i have been challenged three different times this morning while reading different things by this simple question: "have you prayed about it?"
what should i do with the rest of my life? how am i going to pay the bills this month? what do i do about all the tension i feel at work? how do i get my spouse to help out more at home? why won't God help me in the situation? why can't i convince my teenager that he needs to follow Jesus? why are so many bad things happening? all good and valid questions....my response this morning is this simple question right back at you....
"have you prayed about it?"
i am convinced if we would just take a little more time to talk to God about these life-altering questions and then listen to him ... it would be a better way to live!

You know prayer and humbleness go hand in hand. 2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us we must first HUMBLE ourselves then comes the prayer. All through God's word humbleness is essential for God's intervention to occur. 2Chron 12:7 since God saw they were humbled, he chose not to destroy them...2Chron 12:12 Because Rehoboam humbled himself, the LORD's anger turned from him...God is serious about humbleness - are we seriously considering our motives, actions and heart before we approach God with our petitions?
